Benjamin Zhai

Secondary Teacher

Benjamin Zhai is a devoted Chinese educator from Beijing with a robust academic foundation in language and literature. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Chinese Language and Literature from Beijing Normal University, and a Master's degree in Chinese Studies (Language Education) from The Education University of Hong Kong. His impactful scholarly publications across Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan earned him a Hong Kong Youth Literary Award.

Before joining Bloom, Benjamin nurtured budding minds at top-tier institutes, including Tsinghua University High School, Harrow LiDe School Hengqin, and Beijing Aidi International School. Through many years of teaching experience in both international and bilingual schools, he taught Chinese language and literature across a range of curricula, including IGCSE, A-Levels, and HKDSE. He focuses on strengthening students' linguistic abilities, and improving their cultural understanding and critical thinking skills through engaging, student-centered teaching approaches.

Benjamin's aims to inspire students to share his passion for Chinese language and culture through developing a lifelong appreciation for Chinese literature and heritage. As an educator and mentor, he wants to teach students to become confident global citizens who value their cultural identity by acquiring the knowledge and perspectives needed in an interconnected world.
