STEM Program

STEM Program

Saint Too Bloom Academy's STEM program ignites a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) in students from Grades 7-12. We make STEM:

  • Locally Relevant: We connect learning to Hong Kong's unique environment, like studying the impact of climate change on local coral reefs or designing housing for our city's needs. Our curriculum integrates Hong Kong and Chinese culture and uses our biological and geological landscapes as living laboratories through research, field trips, and projects.
  • Real-World Focused: Students tackle real challenges through project-based learning. From exploring the science behind COVID-19 to designing sustainable solutions like solar-powered air conditioning for under-resourced communities, our students see the relevance of their studies firsthand.
  • Ethically Driven: We explore the impact of technology on society, thinking critically about its responsible use. Our curriculum is continuously updated to reflect current events and ethical debates, helping students understand the influence of STEM in real-time. Amid breakneck technological disruption, we hold fast to enduring values that align with our mission of cultivating compassionate innovators.
  • Career-Connected: Our partnership with CoCoon Foundation and our STEAM Studios expose students to real-world STEM opportunities and careers through internships, research, and interaction with experts. Our project-based learning approach allows students to build impressive portfolios that are both academically and practically valuable.

Building a Strong Foundation:

Our program is built upon a strong foundation of:

  • UK Curriculum: Our curriculum aligns with UK national standards and moves from the Key Stage 3 to IGCSE to the international A Levels, ensuring a seamless academic experience.
  • Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS): We incorporate the pioneering content, cross-cutting STEM concepts, and the latest scientific and engineering practices from NGSS. We expose students to deeper ideas in the four STEM domains of Physical Science, Life Science, Earth and Space Science, and Engineering. This is incorporated through our hands-on Studios projects.

Preparing Future STEM Leaders:

Bloom graduates will be future-ready. They will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to engage with the world scientifically and to pursue exciting careers in STEM fields.
