Nelson Yee

Secondary Teacher

Nelson Yee was born and raised in Hong Kong. He later moved to Canada, where he pursued his passion for art and earned both a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Fine Arts, specialising in lithography in printmaking. Upon returning to Hong Kong, Nelson took on multiple roles within the art industry, gaining valuable experience as a curator, gallery manager, and practicing artist. Eventually, he chose to dedicate his career to art education, driven by a desire to share his knowledge and passion with the next generation of artists.

Nelson is a dedicated and highly experienced art educator. Over the years, he has taught students across a wide range of age groups—from Year 1 up to university level—at various educational institutions. For more than a decade, he has been involved in teaching GCSE, IGCSE Art and Design, and IBDP Visual Arts courses. This extensive experience has provided him with a deep understanding of the holistic development of students at different stages of their education.

He believes that the role of an art educator goes beyond teaching technical skills and nurturing creativity. For him, it’s also about being a mentor and a guide—helping students build confidence, refine their artistic voice, and develop the skills they need to pursue their creative passions and make a meaningful impact on the world.
