Robyn Collins
Robyn is a very seasoned educator with over 40 years of experience in many different school systems. Trained in Australia with a Teaching degree and a Master’s degree in Gifted Education, Robyn has worked in many different fields of education. This includes Primary education as a classroom teacher and as a reading specialist, which has given her a firm understanding of how children learn and how to support them as they develop. This grounding has helped Robyn when moving into Secondary education as an SEN, EAL and Gifted education specialist and English teacher. Robyn has also been a consultant in schools to principals as well as in teacher training.
Robyn is a member of the World Council for Gifted Education, presenting at many world conferences about work in this field as well as presenting at NEASC and many regional education conferences. Her interest in Gifted education comes from parenting three gifted children, which prompted her to run the South Australian Gifted Program where children attended classes of interest and Robyn shared her expertise with parents and caregivers.
After teaching in the top private schools in Australia, Robyn has worked Internationally for over 16 years in The United Arab Emirates, New York schools, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong and Switzerland. These experiences have evoked her ongoing love of exploring cultural differences and international mindedness as well as supporting equity in schools. Robyn believes in developing the ideals of inclusive education in schools, believing that all students have the right to excellence in education.
Robyn has three grown children and one grandchild who live in Australia. After a wide and varied journey in education, Robyn is looking to share her knowledge and experience with the Bloom community.
